You’ve probably heard the story…
…that says the forex marketplace is where you can make your fortune. Or you’ve heard the flip side of this: that forex is just a scam! As with most things in life the truth lies somewhere in between.
Trading the International Forex Markets from Anywhere in the World!
The truth is that you can make a lot of money trading forex, and yes you can even quit your day job and trade anywhere in the world as and when you like, making a living as you travel!
There are Two Paths you can tread in order to attain this goal. They are covered in detail on this site. The path you choose will be either:
- Manual trading after having applied yourself to a great deal of study or
- Hands-off, automated or semi-automated approaches. Basically through buying the knowledge or expertise of other traders and/or their systems. This involves less upfront study at the cost of increased risk.
Which ever path you choose, following it will show you there are Three Keys to success in forex. They are:
1) A Sound Education in the Fundamentals of Currency Markets
You need to know how forex ticks, who its major players are and how and when they move the market. This market is, for the most part, too big for any one player to manipulate, but the “Big Dogs” certainly shift price around when they think and act in the same direction.
We retail traders cannot do battle with the big dogs, and so must adapt to the market fluctuations which they (intentionally or unintentionally) engineer.
2) An Understanding of Your Unique Personal Psychology
Any geneticist will tell you it’s almost a miracle you were actually born and survived. The chances are almost as infinite as the universe itself. And your personal psychological makeup is just as unique.
If you think you can just take an off-the-shelf trading strategy or system and apply it blindly, you will almost certainly be disappointed with the results. You must understand your own unique psychological profile in order to survive. Even if you choose the second path and decide to trade with forex robots, you will need to adjust their parameters to suit your personality and trader type.
The ancient injunction “Man, Know Thyself” applies.
3) An Approach to Trading Based on Your Unique Personal Psychology
Once you know who you are as a trader, you will know what you want. There are endless variations to the countless trading strategies and systems available, and one or more of them will suit you just fine, if you do your homework by selecting wisely.
