A good forex calendar is a critical component of every forex trader’s arsenal. Get in front of events to avoid nasty surprises…
To anyone but the very long term trader who concentrates only on monthly charts and above, it is essential to be across the news announcements that are breaking, have recently occurred and those that are impending.
So many times in my early forex career I would put a trade on forgetting to check for coming news announcements, only to be spiked out by the volatility caused by breaking news. It’s a frustrating experience but one we all seem to have to endure until we learn to incorporate a check of upcoming announcements from a reliable forex news and calendar source each day before we begin to trade.
There are many sources for news and announcements with respect to the financial markets available on the web. I have used pretty much all the major ones over time, but recently have begun relying on the charts from Myfxbook. These charts and tables are seen above and below, updating in real time. I find them very easy to read, extremely reliable and always updated regularly.
I suggest that if you do not have a source for such information you could bookmark this page for future reference.
Another source is the ever reliable and excellent Forex Factory website: Forex Factory Unfortunately Forex Factory do not enable direct posting of their Forex News Calendar on other sites, so I am unable to show it here. It’s pretty much the same information as Myfxbook however.
